Built reconciliation front end and data access system for internal auditors to use to reconcile bank statements with internal records. Developed system using Java, with Struts and Velocity, and Oracle stored procedures.
- JP Morgan Chase (1995-2002)
Java Web Developer - Developed Java web applications for Corporate and Private Client Equity Derivatives Marketers. Responsible for full project life cycle of systems including: Gathering requirements, producing functional and technical specs, all coding, testing, and deployment
- Developed Java/J2EE tool for automated generation of trade term sheets. Used XSLT to transform user input, boilerplate text, and RTF control codes into a fully formatted Word document. Web-based system ensured ease of use and standardized language devised by legal department, and simplified the process of trade term sheet production.
- Sales Pipeline and CRM System: Developed full-featured Java/J2EE sales pipeline and client relationship management system. Used Sybase for data storage and retrieval. Provided easy to use, flexible, shared, centralized system which replaced diverse unlinked individual methods. Included filtering and sorting capabilities, and a rich set of management reports (using XSLT) for tracking group's marketing activities. Counterparty cross holdings feature helped marketers devise trade strategy proposals for clients to minimize risk and protect assets.
- Jump-started Java/J2EE web development for project converting from VB/ASP to Java. Configured WebSphere application server on Windows/NT; coded, tested, and deployed Java servlets and JSP for enterprise-wide application developed on Windows/NT
- Developed enterprise-wide personnel lookup system. Achieved fast lookup using SQLServer. Flexible Java/JSP web-based user interface was enthusiastically received by bank community.
- Unix software developer responsible for applications to calculate and track portfolio performance; automated manual data transformation and loading processes
- Wrote Unix Korn shell scripts and C and C++ programs to automate processing of nightly download of trade, security, pricing, and client data. Process encompassed extensive data transformation; provided logging and status monitor. Eliminated the need for human intervention in the transformation and loading of the data into Informix database, resulting in greatly improved speed and accuracy. Created Java servlet-based status monitor used by operations to monitor progress of nightly download processing.
- Designed, coded, and deployed Java/J2EE calculation and reporting system that enabled asset managers to track portfolio performance by groups of related accounts. Provided flexible selection, grouping, and formatting criteria. Replaced cumbersome manual spreadsheet calculations, allowing faster, easier, and more accurate results.
Account Performance Hifeature: Worked closely with performance managers to develop a system for calculating historical rates of return over various measurement periods for client accounts and for benchmarks. Designed and coded the system in C on the Sun platform. - Automated the process of obtaining monthly benchmark values from vendors (DataStream and Lehman Brothers). Used DataStream macros to obtain prices for various index benchmarks. Wrote Java server and client socket code to have the PC open a socket connection to Unix server, transfer the data, and remotely execute commands on the server to convert prices to rate of return, and to load the data into Informix database. Eliminated human intervention in obtaining and transferring the data, calculating rates of return, and loading the information into the database, resulting in improved speed and accuracy. (to TOP)
