    Teaching Introductory and Advanced Java Subjects, Introductory and Advanced Oracle Subjects, XML, Visual Basic, and CORBA.
  • The New York Presbyterian Hospital (1997 - 2000) Consultant
    Provided DB2 and Oracle DBA skills to a large medical complex. Responsibilities included; training new DBAs, design of a new data repository using Erwin, installation and testing of Oracle8, migration of MVS/ESA DBMSs (IMS and DB2) to OS/390, evaluation of DB2 Universal, and the development of Web applications accessing Oracle and DB2 databases. Web applications written using Java Servlets, JDBC and JSP on the server side and presented using HTML and XML.
  • General Electric Capital Corporation (1994 - 1997) Consultant
    Worked on a client-server interface for Tax and General Ledger applications. The project required design, testing, and implementation of programs, JCL PROCs and Gupta RPLs in test, user acceptance, and production environments. Also responsible for the conversion of a Gupta SQLBase application to PowerBuilder as well as developing PowerBuilder/Oracle systems for tax applications.
  • Avon Products (1992 - 1995) Consultant
    Provided expertise in an emerging DB2 environment on logical design, data modeling, physical design and performance issues to Application Development groups and provided performance and tuning recommendations to the DBA and Systems Programming areas. Aided Human-Resources area in implementation of client/server technology. Provided Access, Visual Basic, PowerBuilder, and Syabse support to several development groups. Also designed, coded and implemented GUI systems for tailored management tasks.
  • Chemical Bank (1993) Consultant
    Provided Technical support to application teams migrating their development platform from the mainframe to the PC. Advised team members on product usage for Microfocus COBOL, XDB, MCO (Microfocus CICS Option), and MF370ASM (BAL emulator).
  • Manufacturers Hanover (1982 - 1992) Consultant
    Provided both DBA and systems programming skills to the client in a large-scale corporate environment. Responsibilities included: implementation, maintenance, and performance monitoring of IMS (under CICS), DB2, QMF and related program products.
  • Bell Telephone Laboratories (1981 - 1982) Consultant
    Designed and coded an IMS/DC based analog of SMP4 for Bell System companies. The functions performed by this package replaced the editing facilities of TSO and the install and audit features of SMP4.
  • Salomon Brothers (1979 - 1981) DBA / IMS Systems Programmer
    Assignments focused on logical and physical database design with emphasis on secondary indexing and IMS logical relationships.
  • City of New York (1978 - 1979) Data Base Administrator
    Tasks were concentrated on IMS recovery procedures using IMS utilities such as log accumulation, image copy, forward recovery, batch backout, SMU-II, and data base reorganization.
  • Equitable Life Assurance (1975 - 1978) Applications Programmer
    Coded COBOL programs for large pension valuation systems with an emphasis on analysis eventually replacing coding tasks.
