Application Express Plug-in Architecture

The APEX plug-in architecture, introduced with APEX 4.0, allows developers to integrate customizations into APEX in a self-contained, easily reusable and sharable way - as a plug-in. There are currently 4 types of plug-ins available in APEX: Items, Regions, Processes, and Dynamic Actions.

Many organizations and developers are using the new architecture to recreate "controls" that they are familiar with from other environments but do not exist in APEX. Others are using the architecture to simplify ordinarily complex processes and user interactions that they commonly encounter. If you have similar needs make sure to learn more about this exciting new architecture!
