Introduction

Oracle9i has been available for a bit more than a year now, and we’re getting close to Oracle10g (the “g” stands for grid, as in “grid computing”). However, many developers have not yet had a chance to research, test, and implement the new features available with 9i. This article is for you. What I will present herein is a practical introduction (with lots of working examples) to the purpose and functionality of two of the most useful features available with Oracle9i: Flashback Query and External Tables.
